Well we had a good breakfast, toast, bacon and egg, drank up some tea and off we went towards theLuftwaffe musem.  We had found it all yesterday (when it was closed) so it was just a matter of quickly retracing our steps.  We made a note to stop off for some more stuff (bacon etc) ready for next breakfast and off we jolly well went.

No porblem reaching Zoologischer Garten  and we waited for the next bus to the weird corner where we had to cath the bus to our walking point.  By the time we got there we were both ready for a “little tinkle” so I went behind the bus shelter and Paul did likewise while I kept watch.  So once again we go off on the walk to the airport museum. There were no mistakes this time andwe got in Free of Charge and had awalk over to the airport three which we had to pass all the parked up planes to see.

Heres a few that were there.  As we got closer to the hanger we passed the big supply drog aircraft that I thought was worth a shot.

It looked impressive but, sadly lacked any mititary use , that we know off.   So amazed but, yet to be exhited we wandered through to the next hanger to see what was going on. Unsurprisingly it was packed with stuff we had blown up in WW2 and one or two damaged British stuff.  There was some good stuff their like an original He111 bomber, shot dowm Me109 and a few bits of “scrap” that had fell off Lancaster bombers.  This next shot I though was quite interesting as it was a V1 rocket in full flight (of course it didn’t really fly) up over the rest of the planes.

You can actually see an 88mm flak gun in the distance, to the right, although it had run out of ammo too.  It was a shame the Germans lost the war.

We then went out to see what was going on in the other hanger, number 3 I think. Anyway, apart from the usual Dakotas (from the air lift) we saw a mighty impressive German Luftawffe plane (built by Yankees) that was supposed to rocket up and blast the Soviet planes as they were on the way to blow up everyone. Sadly the notice did say they were never put into production as they were “considered” impractical.

The rest of the hanger was pretty much old hat as despite being advertised as the control tower there was very little we could see from the ground level and despite all the asking and shrugs we got no admittance.  There were more toilets there and a few posters so we decided to leg it back to Berlin.

Pretty much as I could remember it from last time, but a lot harder to get too.  As we waited for the bus, we decided to grab some food as we were near a supermarket but, that proved to be a waste of time as every thing was coverd in mayonaise again and Paul still dosen’t like the damn stuff.  We went back to “Zoo” stop to catch a train back to the hotel, but, there still wasn’t any nosh places to fill us up.

Paul decided to have awalk around the town and see what they had to eat there but, all we could fing was Chinese place that had shut down for 2 hours so we decided to head back and get some more stuff from nearer to the hotel.  This we did and had a bite to eat (currywurst mit pomefrets) and some weird stuff only Paul would eat.

Then we had the marathan walk back to the hotel, 15 to 20 minutes depending on how tired we were.  There we had a look at the next venture while we drank our beers and watched the TV in German.
