having spent a pleasant afternoon watching John Wayne spank Maureen O’Hara with a small shovel I mused that if more Shakespeare was like this it would probably reach a wider audiance.
I of course refer to the fact that “McLintock” is the “Taming of the Shrew” and then I tried to think of some other great adaptations;
Tempest – “The Forbidden Planet”
Antony & Cleopatra – “Carry On Cleo”
Romeo & Juliet – “West Side Story”
