The furore about Clarkson thumping a producer of the Top Gear show has prompted me to vent my spleen with my own opinion of the matter.

I had first seen a report when logging in to my Yahoo account, and because Yhoo have taken to filling my spam folder with junk I largely ignored it.

However, it was the main feature of BBC Breakfast news today and slightly more difficult to ignore.  I quickly noticed how aggressively the presenter was questioning the former Stig about his opinion on the ‘alleged’ assault, trying to get him to say he thought it was OK to thump work colleagues; I would have been tempted to plant one on him.

Now, I know the world is all upside down over conventions today, but I always thought the producers of any show had the final say on matters. Now if it was the same chap that let them provoke a near riot   in Argentina, endangering everyone there, I think I would like to know what crackpot scheme they were promoting this time that got Clarkson angry enough to use his fists.

All that aside, I am deeply suspicious of hidden motives as the BBC are trying to make BBC2 an internet channel which must be pretty hard to do when there is such a stormingly popular show Like Top Gear on it. Could that be why the remaining three shows have been pulled, or is it just another publicity stunt; ‘there’s no such thing as bad publicity.’

Regarding this reported thumping in the heat of an argument, I have to say there have been times I have been tempted to thump a few people in the past and probably I will be tempted even more as the world gets crazier.  I would like to remind ‘saint BBC’ that is not so long ago they let that areshole Jonathan Ross and Russell Brand get away with that insulting phone call to Andrew Sachs; not heated argument there, they just thought it would be funny!  Both are now once again on the BEEBs respectable list and all is forgiven: not by me.

Let us also not forget their long term relationship with Sir Jimmy (the pervert) Saville and Rolf (can you tell what it is yet little boy?) Harris.  It makes me so angry to see the level of double standards so blatantly displayed at what should be the home of licence payers impartiality and morality.   I could have forgiven the presenter had he said; ‘ pitty Clarkson didn’t manage to clock Saville when he was working for us.’

All in all, I don’t think it is alright to go around thumping everyone who gets your goat, but there are times when a fist is the only way of getting through.  I doubt we will ever get the truth and that even if it emerges it will be lost in the great sea of ‘Conspiracy Theories.’ On balance, having seen some of the tasks dreamed up by the production team, I think my sympathies lie with Jeremy.
