So here it has fallen, the righteous has married the righteous. At long last Adam and Ashley have finally tied the knot and had there wedding at the local registry down some god forsaken part of the country, that I cannot remember. Lets just say it was someplace south of where Ashley was born and leave it at that.
It is with great relief that I witnessed their wedding and saw first hand the Johnny foreigners of her side of the family . I have to say they have all passed with flying colours and done a splendid job of turning up at the church. For all the bell ringing and watching Ashley arrive at the church hall (with Alicia throwing her genuine church hall weddings behind her) in good time and Adam was waiting for her with Trevor. I have to say here that Trevor did a splendid job of serving up the rings and keeping everything going along smoothly.
It went as it should have done, without and slip ups or cock-ups, and everything went smoothly. Not a bad thing considering that Adam and Ashley were full of life and giving out all their quotes for all they were worth. All too soon Mr and Mrs left the hall and went off down to the reception area. By the way, the weather forecast was correct and we had a grey morning to finish the day.
More photographs galore and then we all went into the main building for the start of the festivals to celebrate the day. There were Trevor wife along with a few others Annette had invited and Andrew and Five-Pints. It was looking a pretty good turn out for me.
And so the day went on with all sorts of meetings and Alicia refereeing. We got round to the evening meal time and I was told that I had the honor of announcing the arrival of Mr and Mrs Orton. Of course by now, we’d all sat down ready for the scoff and I was informed of their arrival. So with a quick, “Ladies and gentlemen…the Bride and Groom…” we were all in the hall and ready to stuff their faces. Some time after, many speeches and cheering all gone and dusted, they went and cut up the cake ready and we went off out to join our local entertainer with his bag of tricks. I have to say I was impressed by his style and magic.
Eventually Mike and his Mrs turned up for a couple of hours exchanging details of what went wrong with me and Mike and we sat down and had a couple of slow ales ready before he got dragged off again. We were then left alone in the company of Andrew and Five Pints with occasional visits from my brother. I almost forgot here, that we had a visit from Dr Anderson and her husband who kept us entertained most of the day until after dinner.
A good few passes later and Annette and her crowd were pretty much gone and we went off into the well worn but, a slightly well worn concert hall for the last hour and a half before we were all thrown out. I have to say that Five Pints did a splendid job pushing himself into the back of most of the photos. We may get some shot of that a little later on. My shots were as I suspected, miserable and lacking.
All in all we had a good night out and we can forget the useless breakfast, it was a night to remember. I trust myself, Andrew and Five pints can fit Adam into some weekend review when he gets back. We did miss that.
