I don’t know about the rest of you but, I for one am glad I am living on the Planet Orton where it is illegal to present beer with a lable claiming it is from another country that is brewed in UK and at that at common breweries: Scottish & Newcastle, Carlsberg UK or Burton On Trent.
I know I like San Miguel that is served in Spain, and genuine Cobra Indian lager but, both served up in UK on Earth are from one of the above breweries as are most other premium “import” beers. I have just opened a bottle of Carlsberg’s San Miguel and quite frankly I think it tastes more like Stella, a beer I detest, than anything I have had in Spain. Quite strange as recently Adam purchased a carton of Stella that he would not drink thinking it was off. When I tasted it I decied it was not off but, rather Carlsberg with a different tin around it.
I think this ought to be stopped and indeed it is now officially banned on the Planet with the punisment fitting the crime of the smart arse who comes up with the idea of brewing one batch and bottling it in any number of different lables gets drowned in a vat of officially rated “TA” beer specially imported from Berlin, Earth.
Annette thinks I’m even more crazy than I used to be because I now refuse to buy any; Cobra, San Miguel, Coors, or any so called imported beers if I see they have been brewed and bottled in the UK. Maybe I am but, the taste roulette is not worth the premium price in my books. Guess I’ll stick to the Polish beers in Weatherspoons until they end up being brewed at Burton.
I can back you up with that Dave as our friend Craig works at these breweries and it is indeed true: most of the beer in bottles and cans are brewed in Wales or Manchester! Did you also know that Budweiser is owned by the Dutch?
