Today Adam finally got the unwanted ‘new’ computer connected to the internet so I can get back to doing some printing at home and catch up a bit on my blog. Overall I see little reason to date, as to why it was necessary as I had months ago told him about the ‘fix’ that allowed you to update XP until 2019, but he chose to ignore that insisting I needed win 7.
I honestly don’t think I need or even want win 7, but I am now stuck with it for the life of this machine, ZEN. For someone who has a growing mistrust of all microsoft products and upgrades it has been a wrench changing from Hal on XP. I now have to get familiar with all the changes in control, for example, because I had no printer icon visible I ended up printing 5 pages I didn’t want this afternoon. Hal would have questioned me rigorously over the need to even print one copy.
On the rant of microsoft, I received my hospital questionnaire from Jayne Jelf in a strange docx format that only have opened in the compatible msoft programe recommended by win 7 so I had to find a pdf converter on forefox before I could print it off. Now you would imagine with an alliterate name like ‘Jayne Jelf’ she must be some sort of superhero Blunderwoman seems a good fit.
While I’m on a rant; two stall of Indian descent blokes flogging dodgy ceramic poppy badges and no sign of any remorse of robing the British Legion of funds. I was quite happy to see both had a table full they had been unable to sell as most people were at the cenotaph service.
You do have a trial with Toad!
The Bilston ceramic poppies is a disgrace. Why hasn’t anybody done anything about it?
I couldn’t agree more about the poppies but, so far have not seen anyone to complain to. They seem to keep out of the way when the British Legion are around. The biggest fault lies with the chavs that have no idea what the poppy represents and I think even they would think twice if the knew they were robbing a charity.
