More fun and games today at work as Ambrose had connected his ‘new’ computers BUT, couldn’t download silvershite.  http://www.bibliodome.com/.a/6a0167604f7a57970b016767c21762970b-800wi   I said I’d have a go if I got time because of all the planning and I asked why he’d changed the one I normally use (most reliable) and he told me he’d chucked in a skip because one of the women teachers didn’t like using it!  I replied she would probably hate the new one even more and he was throwing good money away.http://d236bkdxj385sg.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/12.png  I had by now turned the bling machine on and noticed it was win 7 using chrome but, to my surprise there was no IE and no silvershite on the computer.  So I tried to download silvershite, finding my way through about six pop ups on the goggle browser to get it downloaded. https://i.ytimg.com/vi/QF2TJ6phckw/hqdefault.jpg  Next step was to download CCleaner and have a chance to sort out what was causing all the rubbish.  That done I installed Firefox and deleted Chrome. Much of the junk then disappeared.  Still no sign of IE, but I opened up the Kip programme and it refused to work  despite telling Firefox to allow silvershite to run. Checked the HTML and that worked, told Ambrose that was all he could use until I found where they had hidden Explorer and warned him that the new site was a bigger pile of http://www.uri.edu/ce/healthylandscapes/livestock/photos/BMPs/manure_crop.jpg than the old one.

The first two kids never turned up so I turned my attention to the second Delboy computer    http://21entertainment.co.uk/acts/images/del-boy-lookalike-steve-03.jpg.  If anything this was even worse.  Chrome again and no IE and what was worse it was infected with adware browser add ons and produced a cascade of adverts and tried to download a pile of software. Eventually I got ccleaner installed and searched for likely candidates for malware. Deleted two obvious ones and got Firefox loaded. Deleted chrome, cleared a lot more up taking great delight in pointing out on the google questionnaire why I was ditching their chrome.  Use firefox to find the remaining spyware and ccleaner got rid of that.  Found that both silvershite and Explorer  were needed again but, did manage to locate the IE shortcut when getting rid of the bing toolbar.

Once again Kip would not load in Firefox but, did respond in IE so all was well.  I informed Ambrose he had been done no favours by whoever sold him these machines and informed him yet again it was the software and not the machines.

At this point I informed him I could do no more today and if he wanted anything else doing to them to take them back.
